We had a good crowd out at the park in Grapevine. We posted a picture of mom on the In Memory wall. Bill, Lisa, Debby and I walked in honor of mom. In total, we raised $495 in mom’s name ‘Team Ladybass’. I hope to raise much more next year.

It was an emotional day for me. Seeing so many people affected by, personally, this deadly disease. Unlike so many charity walks, this one I bet consisted of only people directly affected by the disease. So many people help with ‘the pink’ whether they know someone or not. ‘The Pink’ is a gender based disease so you’ve got 50% of the population to market too. PanCan is much more difficult to market, but we have to keep spreading the word. I know personally 3 people beside my own mother that have pancreatic cancer or one of their family members do. It’s much more prevalent than most people realize.

Get involved. Donate when you can. We need to find a cure, or at best, find a way to slow it down. I miss my mom. No one should have to go through the pain and suffering she did.
