Sherry,

Knowing you has been a great honor and privilege. I have learned a lot from you. I believe you are one of the strongest people I have known. Your positive attitude and smiling face are what I will remember most about you. I will miss you greatly and remember you always. I wish for you eternal peace and happiness in the arms of God.

Hi Sherry, It's been a long time since I have spoken with you and you might not even remember me. I just wanted to drop you a line and say hello and give you some support during your time of need. You probably don't even remember meeting me at the Rally@Fork back in 1999 but I remember it very well and the advice that you gave me about guiding. You are an inspiration to me and all the anglers that you have come in contact with through the years. The fishing community on both the BFHP and the TFF are praying very hard for you!! God Bless you and your family.

Respectfully,

Mike Bucca

Shelly,

I am your mother's friend, Pat Poarch and I work with Sherry. I have been faithfully reading this website for awhile now, hoping you would write something. We love Sherry so much and this is so hard to understand. She is such a wonderful Christian woman, devoted mother and loving wife. She loves you, Shelly and Warren so very much and I can't even begin to tell you how proud she is of Devon. Sherry is my best friend and I miss her so much. I don't want her to suffer but I don't want her to go either. I need my friend here at work and I know that she can't come back. She is my prayer partner, she is my closest friend and I love her.

I found out about your mother over at the Texas Fishing Froums, and I had to come and see for myself... WHY? I really cannot answer that, just that I do feel you pain I lost my mother to cancer back on June 4th, and it was one of the hardest things I have ever dealt with in my life, I am a grown man at the age of 45, and like you I creid like a lil baby knowing that this cancer was going to take this wonderful women out of my life! as I sit here and type this I am tearing up just thinking about what you are going thur, and having to watch your mother suffer and waste away, it was the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. I will keep you and your family in my prayers, and I know this will not make you feel any better but where she is going there will be no more heartaches or no more pain and suffering, I watched my mother leave this world and at the moment she went on to the other side I seen a since of peace on her face and I had seen my MOM was no longer suffering anymore, and she was gone to a better place, tho I know that does not help us that is left behind, just know that one day you will be with your mother once again and he will be well and gleaming with good health. again I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am for you and your family and I do know what you are going thur. may GOD bless you and yours.

God bless you and your Mom. A mutual Friend named Mike Bucca informed me about her condition this morning. I knew your Mom back in the late 80s and early 90s from the time she used to work at LTV/Vought, and again when she started the ladies bass fishing club in Arlington. She invited me to teach the ladies about bass fishing clubs, which I gladly did. Sherry is one of the cornerstones in North Texas bassfishing, and she was certainly a tremendous influence on the women who now compete in this great sport. During her time on Lake Fork, she made a great many friends who love her and will truly miss her. I moved to Georgia last year, and away from my beloved state of Texas. It hurts to hear that one God's greatest Texans is so near the end of her time. God Bless her and be sure to share my fond memories and admiration for her!

Shelly,

I heard about Sherry this afternoon from George. I want you to know that I am praying for Sherry this day and in the days ahead for healing and relief. I am praying for you as well for strength that only can be found by God alone. He always has a plan and it is my prayer that you will see it and he will reveal himself to you in a mighty way and that you will be drawn closer to Him than ever before.

Shelly - I've known your mom for many years - we worked together with the first (and following) Becoming An OUtdoors Woman events in Texas. We instructed the fishing courses. She is a knowledgeable angler and a sweet one. I will keep her - and your entire family - in my prayers.

I once heard a saying that helped me to understand losing loved ones - doesn't make it any easier - but helps. It said something like "Grief is the price we pay for loving someone we lose"

Thank you for the updates - My love to all - please hug Sherry for me and tell her I send my love - even if she is unaware of your words. People can and do hear what those around them say. In God's Love,

Shelly,

I met your mom some time ago while fishing lake Fork. She used to "hang" out with us on the Bass Fishing Home Page, and we all have great respect and love for her. I am saddened to hear of her cancer.

I lost my mom suddenly a couple of years ago to cancer. It was very difficult. There are no easy answers, only Gods spiritual grace, love and comfort in the midst of earthly life. While I make my living fishing, I am a long time student and missionary of Biblical counseling for children's issues. (Abused and critically ill children). I can only remotely relate to what your mom, you and your family are going through, but I will have hope and remain in prayer for all of you.

May His wisdom and comfort surround you all.
